Golden Treasure: Bluegrass Legends on Park South is presented as an overview of many of the legendary musicians who brought bluegrass into the national limelight beginning, appropriately enough, with three of the most famous tracks by the recognized "father" of bluegrass, Bill Monroe. Nine of the 16 tracks are performed by Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys featuring Ricky Skaggs and Keith Whittley, which is fine enough, but those looking for an accurate overview of bluegrass would be better suited with a more diverse collection. For those looking for nothing more than fantastic playing, this is a decent collection, although the sound quality on some of these tracks is a bit poor. ~ Gregory McIntosh
