Claye, Rue Saint-Benoit, 7," is on the page facing the title page and at the bottom of the last text page (p. 719). The volume is bound in maroon calf over boards bevelled at the outer edges, with borders with fleurs-de-lis in each stamped in black, and gold stars and florets in each corner stamped in gilt. The spine has been rebound in brown levant, with the author and half-title stamped in gilt on a black levant label, other flower designs and horizontal rules stamped in gilt, and other designs stamped in black. The endpapers are of white machined paper; those bound are within corner a maroon border with an elaborate pattern stamped in gilt. The front free endpaper bears in its upper right corner the embossed label, "E. Walker & Sons, Book Binders, 114 Fulton Street, New York." The title page has the full title, author, edition, engraved illustration, publisher, place, and the date in Roman numerals. The text pages are of high-quality paper; all edges are cornergilt.
