Copy 1: 20.9 x 13.7 cm. The printer's imprint, "...done into a booklet by The Roycrofters at their shop," is in a colophon in red ink on the verso of the last text page (p. 19). Facing it is a multicolored logo, "ROYCROFT--ELBERT HUBBARD." The volume is quarter-bound in white buckram over dark gray paper over boards, with dark gray endpapers. The title is stamped in gilt on the spine; the title and author are stamped in gilt on the buckram of the front cover. The flyleaves and text pages are of hand-laid Dickinson paper with the Roycroft watermark. The text pages are set in Caslon. Between pp. 12-13 there is a facsimile of a manuscript letter of Mr. Burroughs on facing leaves of pale-yellow Japan Vellum. The title page verso is blank.
Copy 2: 22.1 x 14.3 cm. The volume is bound in full brown suede with yapped edges, with title and author stamped in gilt on a brown calf label inset in the center of the front cover. The title page verso contains copyright data. Pages [v], [1], and 19 have been hand-illuminated with flower designs by Alta Mattey of the Roycrofters, whose signature faces the colophon page.
