Library Journal Review

Two decades after the death of New German Cinema wunderkind Rainer Werner Fassbinder comes the first in a welcome series of newly minted film transfers celebrating the director's prolific output. Fox finds the filmmaker also starring as a gay carnival worker who is taken advantage of by his newly acquired bourgeois "friends" after he wins a lottery. Although not Fassbinder's best work, this critique of society in the guise of melodrama is recommended for most collections. (c) Copyright 2010.
