1847 edition: [A]-H¹⁶ I⁴; [i]-vii, 8-128 129-132; 15.5 x 10.3 cm. The printer's imprint is absent. The volume is bound in brown cloth over boards, having been blindstamped in a floret pattern. The spine has the title printed in gilt and running from bottom to top. Both covers are blank. The endpapers, front flyleaf, and text pages are of plain white laid paper, now somewhat foxed and stained. The half-title page (p. [i]) incorporates the half-title in a woodcut design, and bears the signature in faded ink, "Mary Farrer 1864"; the frontispiece, a full-page woodcut depicting Adam and Eve hiding from God in the Garden of Eden, is on the half-title verso. The title page holds the full title, publisher, and date and place of publication, and bears the same signature as does the half-title page, only in pencil. The title page verso is blank.
