Local Note:
1899 edition: 21.7 x 14.6 cm. The printer's imprint, "THE DEVINNE PRESS," is at the bottom of the title page verso. The volume, part of a series of the author's works, is bound in green cloth over boards, with a design of a pair of blooming tulips and a single-ruled border stamped in gilt on the front cover. The spine has the author/series, title, publisher, and another blooming tulip design stamped in gilt; the back cover is blank. The endpapers, flyleaves, and text pages are of white hand-laid paper watermarked with the author's initials in script, "F.R.S." The left front endpaper has the ownership sticker of one W. M. Israel in black ink, with the volume number "84" stamped in blue ink. The frontispiece illustration is from a drawing, and is protected a captioned sheet of vellum. The title page has the author/series, title, publisher, and date and place of publication; its verso has the copyright data.
