Reviews 1

School Library Journal Review

Gr 2-4-These books begin with overviews of their subjects' character traits that explain why these figures were selected for this series. The brief, large-type texts are clearly written, although some of the vocabulary could prove challenging to a young audience. The captions for the full-page color photographs offer additional information. Although most of the other available material about Armstrong is geared to older readers, there are several alternative choices for books about Mother Teresa. Unfortunately, the Web sites that are suggested in these titles are totally inappropriate, both with respect to the readability and the content. Because of this, despite the fact that the books are fine otherwise, most collections will want to look elsewhere for information about these inspirational people.-Linda Greengrass, Bank Street College Library, New York City (c) Copyright 2010.
