The pages are unbound and each part has a separate front and back cover in heavy gray laid cardboard. Each front cover has the title, author, illustrator, publisher, and place of publication as part of an engraved design. Each back cover verso contains a publisher's announcement. The whole work is contained in a portfolio of heavy brown board which closes in three places with six strips of brown satin.
