School Library Journal Review

Gr 7 Up-Uschan profiles patriarch Joseph P. Kennedy; sons John, Robert, and Ted; Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis; and John F. Kennedy, Jr., emphasizing their emotional and psychological makeups. The book is not a paean to the family as the author is rather quick to point out rather negative details of his subjects' lives, including the president's marital infidelities and his mother's alleged lack of affection for her children. Although each individual is accorded a chapter, the author makes reference to the other members throughout the book, giving it cohesiveness. The many black-and-white photos are used to good effect. This title will be useful for reports and casual reading.-Carol Fazioli, formerly at The Brearley School, New York City (c) Copyright 2010.
