Reviews 1

School Library Journal Review

Gr 5-8-An overview of the country's history, culture, politics, and geography. Shepherd employs a clear and lively writing style, presenting the information within a descriptive narrative. The book is well organized and attractive, with sidebars that amplify or explain points made within the text or photo captions usually on the same or facing page. The full-color photographs are well chosen and appealing. This resource is easy to use, and has a good "Fast Facts" section. Director and playwright Jane Campion's name is misspelled in the text, but that is a minor flaw. Overall, a fine addition to a well-done series.-Donna L.
