Helmut Buettner, M.D., is a consultant in Mayo Clinic's Department of Ophthalmology and a professor of ophthalmology at Mayo Medical School. He is a specialist in diseases of the retina and the vitreous and their surgical treatments. Dr. Buettner has been involved in patient education and advanced training for new physicians for more than two decades
