School Library Journal Review

Gr 3-6-This is a useful, visually attractive overview. The information is complete and generally accurate. Don Nardo's France (Children's, 2000) is still the standard for this audience, but Knoell's book is an acceptable (though far less comprehensive) alternative. Captioned, full-color photos appear on every other page, and there are three maps.-Ann W. Moore, Schenectady County Public Library, NY (c) Copyright 2010.
