Booklist Review

Chapelle Studios is growing up as a publisher, forsaking much of its middle-American, plain-Jane motifs and patterns to embrace more sophisticated arts-and-crafts wares, including Ure's nearly 200 10-minute tips to spruce up the home. Captions are brief, as are the descriptions; the color photographs are large and plentiful. The book is divided in seven categories (containers, textiles, windows, walls, minor details, mother nature, lighting), covering ordinary ideas as well as unusual ones--from an inside hammock to jewelry as curtain tiebacks. --Barbara Jacobs

Library Journal Review

For every room of the home, Ure gives easy-to-do decorating tips, each of which is accompanied by a photograph in a Victorian-like decorating style. The actual execution of some of these projects, such as curtain making, might actually take longer than ten minutes. But the variety of projects, which can be used in any decorating style, and the ease of making most of them make this book an excellent purchase for any size public library. (c) Copyright 2010.
