Summary:

Surrender and occupation of Japan: Extensive footage documents military, political and social events in Japan following the end of WWII. Sequences include Japan's formal surrender aboard the battleship Missouri, the war crimes tribunals in Tokyo and extensive changes in Japanese culture and politics. Both films include American and Japanese newsreel footage.
