School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 4-Grammy award-winning producer Dennis Scott orchestrates a fine collection of classic songs from popular animated movies. The performers are talented young people singing solos and en masse, offering well-rehearsed vocal stylings to the energetic orchestrations. Twelve selections are included, recognizable from Disney films, although the recording is not a product of the Walt Disney Company. "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast, "Hakuna Matata" from The Lion King, and the 101 Dalmations' "Cruella deVil" are all recorded here, as well as "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story's Colors of the Wind. The difficult-to-locate "Unbirthday Song" from Alice in Wonderland will please story-hour planners and preschool teachers. Fresh new arrangements and enthusiastic, polished vocals set this title apart from similar recordings. Perfect for general listening as well as group sing-alongs, consider purchasing multiple copies if the budget allows.-Kirsten Martindale, Buford Academy, GA (c) Copyright 2010.
