Summary

Summary

Celebration of Family features an assortment of songs centering on family themes by popular artists. Some of the better-known selections include John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy," Boyz II Men's "A Song for Mama," and Victoria Williams' "Daddy's Little Girl." Nearly every song here is of high quality. However, the album's broad range of musical styles presents some problems -- it is perhaps too eclectic for its own good. Yet, even if the music wavers from style to style, its themes never depart from family life. If you're more concerned about lyrics than music then this shouldn't concern you too much, even if listening to the album can be a jarring experience. ~ Jason Birchmeier
