Author Notes

William Weir was a combat correspondent with the 25th Infantry Division in the Korean War and was promoted to the public information NCO for the 27th Infantry Regiment. He was a newspaper reporter-photographer on three papers and acted as a public relations specialist for the Southern New England Telephone Company for 32 years. He is now a freelance writer specializing in military history, crime, and violence. He is the author of four previous books and his articles have been published in Gun Digest, Far East, the New York Times, and War, Literature and the Arts (the Air Force literary magzine)
