Library Journal Review

Once the blocks for a quilt are completed, what is the best way to put them together? Many quilters make beautiful blocks that never become quilts because they find the idea of making a plan for laying out the blocks (the set) and for separating blocks with strips of fabric (the sashing) intimidating. Miller has been offering sets and sashing classes for many years, and this book is the next best thing to taking a workshop with her. She advises making a paper quilt model as a guide in planning the quilt layout. Once this model is completed, she guides the reader through ten popular set designs and 40 different types of sashing. This practical book is full of worksheets, color illustrations, and hints for making make this aspect of quilting more enjoyable. For public library quilting collections. (c) Copyright 2010.
