Library Journal Review

Given the number of children's quilt pattern books available, why purchase this one? For starters, these classic quilts are charming, and they won't go out of style any time soon. The 17 designs are arranged by age group, from first quilts for children from birth to two years to quilts for young people from ten to 13. Several of the quilt patterns include matching quilted toys or accessories, and others are designed to be used in connection with story telling. Girls will love the whimsical appliqued paper-doll quilt, while the whole family can enjoy the chess quilt, which is stored in a cushion with real chess pieces of matching fabric. Included are full-sized templates, piecing diagrams, and quilting patterns. Only British sources are specified in the vendors' list, but this reviewer has no trouble finding U.S. suppliers for specific products. A good choice for public libraries. (c) Copyright 2010.
