School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 3-Welcome to the Dr. Davy Dinosaur Show. Beginning with the introduction of Dr. Davy the dinosaur, listeners have such a good time that they probably won't realize how much they are learning until the show is over. There are dinosaur-related songs ranging from the well-known "Walk the Dinosaur" to the less familiar "Dinosaur, Good Old Dinosaur." But this is much more than just a sing-along. Modeled after TV and radio programs, Dr. Davy's show provides a plethora of dinosaur facts without being didactic. Between each song is a bit where Dr. Davy interacts with his "studio audience." These interludes include the top five reasons why we love dinosaurs, a radio quiz show, and chats with audience members such as Wooly Mammoth and Tony Triceratops. Complete liner notes help with the sing-along and make it easy to extract the dinosaur facts. This is a must have for any collection where information on dinosaurs is in demand.-Veronica Schwartz, Des Plaines Public Library, IL (c) Copyright 2010.
