Author Notes

Peter K. Pringle, Ph.D. is Luther Masingill Professor of Communication at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He has served as a radio general manager, news and public affairs director, news writer, and producer-host, and as a television news editor and writer, moderator, and producer-host. He is the recipient of numerous professional and academic awards.
Michael F. Starr, J.D., L.L.M. is Chairman of the Board and President of Goodstar Broadcasting of Kansas, a 14 station radio group. He is currently on sabbatical as Chair of the Department of Radio-Television at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Mr. Starr is a partner in Fox affiliate WDSI-TV, Chattanooga. He was a founder of two radio groups--Starr Broadcasting Group, Inc. and Southern Starr Broadcasting, which are now part of Chancelor Broadcasting.
