School Library Journal Review

Gr 4-7-This series caters to young fans of the non-team sports depicted in ESPN's Extreme Games. The X Games, as they are commonly referred to, are an Olympic-style collection of alternative sports. Each book contains a brief history of the sport, advice on choosing equipment, safety tips, a guide to simple skills, and a look at the competitive scene. The attractive titles are straightforward and easy to read. The color photographs that appear on every page show children in various stages of learning the sports. Eye-catching "Safety First" boxes are filled with common-sense pointers.-Diane Olivo-Posner, Long Beach Public Library, CA (c) Copyright 2010.
