Reviews 1

School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 2-Georgiana Stewart has created a special niche in the now over-crowded field of classical music recordings for children. Her latest Kimbo project places an emphasis on directed movement activities while a variety of Mozart compositions play in the background. Children are directed to move as mirrors with partners to Mozart's "Piano Sonata No. 1," perform gross motor movements to "Rondo Alla Turca," and execute scarf activities to "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik," to name a few activities. A male voice directs specific movements through the first 10 selections. The vocal directions are printed in the cover booklet. The last nine pieces are performed without the narration to encourage free movement expression. Musical credits and sources are not given, although the production quality is very good. Early childhood specialists looking for guided musical activities will find this recording especially useful.-Rob Reid, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire/Indianhead Federated Library System (c) Copyright 2010.
