Summary

Summary

Most kids have followed fireflies as they flash on and off on hot summer evenings, but many will be surprised to learn that some fish flash on and off too. This book travels from the surface of our oceans down to the deepest depths to look at all kinds of bioluminescent creatures.

Reviews 1

School Library Journal Review

Gr 3-5-Attractive, full-color photographs dominate this slim volume that highlights 11 underwater animals that give off "living light." The information is clearly presented and not readily available in other books for this audience. The format includes large photos of bioluminescent creatures, many of which have been greatly magnified, with a descriptive paragraph or two about the animals placed opposite their pictures. An appealing and enlightening addition.-Nora Jane Natke, Hooked on Books, Hollywood, FL (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
