Library Journal Review

Monk and yogi Bhakta has collected and retold 20 stories on the periphery of the principal story of the immense Indian epic, the Mahabharata. Despite the preceptorial tone of the title, Bhakta has retouched the stories very little; he appends his brief morals to the beginning of each tale, thereby leaving the stories to work their own magic. The Mahabharata is a treasury too little known to the West, and these selections can only help to bring it to a wider audience. Highly recommended. (c) Copyright 2010.
