Reviews 2

Choice Review

The first edition of this directory (1988), based on replies to questionnaires, described 155 Irish repositories. It proved sufficiently useful to go out of print quickly and make necessary this edition, which has a 40% increase in the number of repositories. A typical entry includes repository address and telephone, title of the person to whom inquiries should be addressed, hours, facilities, and major collections. Appendix 1 lists 16 organizations that own archives which have not been arranged or described and can therefore not respond to inquiries; Appendix 2 lists six organizations from the first edition that no longer have custody of records; and Appendix 3 lists seven related organizations. Graduate; faculty; professional. H. Q. Schroyer; Purdue University
