Library Journal Review

A potential major competitor to Macromedia's Director, Flash, and Authorware, iShell is a new media tool for building custom Internet applications and CD-ROM/Internet hybrids. It has slowly been developing over the past couple of years and currently runs on Macs and Wintel machines. The software is available for free downloading at www.tribeworks. com, but its widespread use has been held back by the lack of a good manual, until now. This book, also for sale for $59.95 to registered members on Tribeworks' online store, features tutorials and explanations of iShell components; the CD-ROM includes iShell and QuickTime Pro software. Look for there to be a flood of iShell books in about six months. Get this one now. (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
