Look up from the daily struggle of life to the triumph and personal fulfillment that comes only from living life to the MAX! Some writers are more credible than others because of what they have lived through and triumphed over. Max Cleland survived the loss of both legs and an arm in Vietnam to become a Georgia state senator, state Secretary of State, and in 1997, a U.S. Senator. In Going for the Max!, Senator Cleland talks about what he learned on the long road back to self-esteem, fulfillment, and success from a life of brokenness, pain, and despair. The principles are simple, the writing as straightforward and direct as its author. Book jacket.

Author Notes

Max Cleland is a U.S. Senator from Georgia and Georgia's former Secretary of State. A decorated Vietnam veteran, he speaks frequently to veterans and the disabled across the country. Senator Cleland was appointed as Administrator of the Veterans Administration under President Carter.
