Booklist Review

This is basically a book of garden tips for those of us who work so hard and achieve so little. The authors cover every aspect of gardening, offering advice on growing ground covers, vines, trees, shrubs, bulbs, roses, annuals, and perennials. There is useful information on buying plants, planting, garden management, tools, soil, compost, mulch, fertilizing, pruning, and pest control. As a supplement, there is a list of helpful garden books, and as both decoration and further edification, there are plenty of black-and-white illustrations. Read the book and become pitiful no more. --George Cohen
