School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 2‘A feisty flower girl is bored with the fancy engagement dinner and all the "stuff about love. Blah, blah, blah." However, her lucky ring makes her wishes come true and saves the day when the best man forgets the wedding ring. The child is a thoroughly modern girl twirling in a dress while wearing sneakers, finding the adult talk a yawn, and squabbling with the bride just before the big event. The short sentences, on-target dialogue, large realistic watercolor pictures, and ample white space make this book appealing. Flower Girl will undoubtedly be popular with beginning readers‘especially those with lucky tokens.‘Gale W. Sherman, Pocatello Public Library, ID (c) Copyright 2010.
