Summary

Summary

Since 1963, there have been many theories suggested about the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Gary Cornwell separates history from the speculations, rumours, guesses and wild accusations that have so long been the Kennedy case.

Booklist Review

JFK assassinology prospers, and Cornwell's contribution may have the longest subtitle in the field. It does not crack the case, but the author is promoting his book in media outlets (most heavily in Texas, according to his Web site, www.jfkassassination.com), and public libraries may well receive requests. The author offers his views on the murder's many angles that keep the conspiracy pot boiling, debunking some (that there was a second Oswald) and keeping open others (such as grassy knollism). He hopes to renew attention to the 1979 House inquiry, which claimed a conspiracy existed, but he's competing against such popular anticonspiracy books as Case Closed, by Gerald Posner (1993). --Gilbert Taylor
