School Library Journal Review

Gr 7 Up-Two utilitarian series entries. Each one begins with a broad introduction to the field and then describes related jobs (e.g., biomedical engineer and packaging engineer in Engineering or columnist and newspaper editor in Journalism), providing firsthand accounts from professionals and covering educational and training needs, skills required, and salary ranges. The last section of each book emphasizes what students can do now, highlighting volunteer opportunities and internships. Related Web sites, books for further reading, and addresses for professional organizations are provided. However, with no photos or illustrations, these offerings have a dry, textbook appearance.
